Frequently asked questions.
When will my payment be allocated to my account?
Your biller allocates the payment to your account — Pay@ does not do payment allocations. If a payment has not reflected, our support team can trace the transaction between you, your biller and the payment network, and provide proof that it was received. Your biller then allocates it to your account.
How do I get the reference number I need to pay?
Your Pay@ reference number is printed on your invoice or statement, next to the Pay@ logo, barcode or QR code. If your biller sent you a payment link by SMS or email, opening that payat.io link takes you to your account with the reference already filled in. If you cannot find it, ask your biller for your Pay@ reference number.
My subscription service is still not active after I paid
Reconnecting your service is done by your biller once they allocate your payment. Contact your biller with your Pay@ receipt as proof of payment. If they cannot find the payment, contact our support team on support@payat.co.za and we will trace it.
The amount shown is wrong and I cannot complete the payment
Payments are validated against the account and amount your biller has on file, so a mismatch will stop the transaction. Check the amount on your latest statement first. If it still will not go through, contact our support team on support@payat.co.za with your reference number.
The store could not process my payment
Ask for a bill payment at the till point and give the cashier your Pay@ reference number, barcode or QR code. If the till cannot process it, contact our support team on support@payat.co.za with the store name and your reference number so we can check that channel.
